Learn How Airplanes Fly and Make a Paper Airplane (Online Class ages 6-9)
About This Activity
In this one-time class, students will learn the very basics of how airplanes fly. We will start off by learning about forces through a fun, interactive game. Students will watch a video clip and need to decide if a push or pull is being demonstrated. Then we will dive into learning about the 4 forces of flight (weight, lift, drag, and thrust). We will do a hands-on worksheet together and play another game to help students remember these 4 forces. We will also be making a paper airplane at the end of class. I hope to see your learner there!

Hello everyone! I am a former elementary teacher, teaching 5th grade for 2 years and 1st grade for five. I enjoy teaching children about reading and math through games, hands-on learning, and engaging activities. Animals, airplanes, and arts and crafts are a few other things I am passionate about teaching. I believe that learning should be fun, and I try to make my Outschool classes as engaging as possible!
I still currently hold a K-6 Elementary Teaching License. I loved my time teaching in the classroom but just recently decided it was time for me to stay home with my own two children (ages 3 and 1.5). We are excited for all the adventures we are going to have together as a family, especially going to the zoo to see my favorite animal - giraffes!
